Community Resources

When WEconnect began offering free online support meetings to anyone navigating addiction during COVID-19, I developed a digital schedule/meeting gateway as well as marketing materials to let the public know and additional community resources.

SCOPE: web portal • blog • social media • emails

ROLE: designer • developer • project manager

RESULT: website sessions more than tripled (up by 229%)

The Challenge

Support People during COVID

When COVID-19 shutdowns impacted in-person support groups, WEconnect began offering free online recovery meetings. My work helped get the word out and created a portal where people could access the full roster of meetings offered.

Online Meetings Portal

Working quickly, the first order of business was building out a landing page with the meeting schedule and Zoom links for each. I also added a top banner across the rest of the website leading to this page.

Social Media for Meetings

WEconnect shared the graphics I created with its partner organizations to expand their reach. The first image was for the initial announcement post and the others were for additions to the meeting roster.

Email Updates

I also set up an email list for anyone interested in staying informed of updates to the meeting schedule. Below are a couple of examples of emails I've designed, recycling the social media graphics.

Marina stood up our online meetings quickly and enthusiastically... In just a few weeks, over 10,000 people have joined and this company-defining achievement could not have happened without her hard work.

Blog Posts for People in Recovery

In addition to meetings, building and launching the company blog created a platform where our team could write articles intended to support the recovery community.

The Result

Site Traffic More Than Tripled

In a year-over-year comparison, site sessions increased by 229% and the average bounce rate went down by 27%, meaning more people explored the site after arriving.
